This past week we launched PLADS; a platform for open source art and technology installations in urban space.
As part of the launch we had engaged with 8 Copenhagen-based artists, who all came up with ideas for PLADS installations – using sound, sensors, light and more to enhance public spaces and create playgrounds for all ages. Using funds from the Danish Arts Council we held an artist workshop, had a series of meetings with potential venues and finally a public exhibition on Friday to show the world this first iteration of the project. Everything was held in the Dome of Visions in the Copenhagen harbor, a very impressive setting.
Next steps include diving into more thorough documentation and presentation materials, heavy fundraising and, hopefully soon, the building of the first prototypes.
